For those who have decided to bypass the Surface RT in favor of a
“real Windows environment,” they won’t have to wait much longer.
February 9th is the date to circle on your calendar if you want to get the Microsoft Surface Pro.
A Real Pro
This tablet will run the Windows 8 Pro but
will only be available in the U.S. and Canada at the beginning. A
magnetic keyboard will come with the tablet even though you will also
get a stylus. You can also choose between the 64GB and the 128GB for
plenty of hard drive space for all of your storage needs.
You will also have the option to purchase the Wedge Touch Mouse that is specifically designed for the tablet.
During this same time, the RT will be expanding to new markets.
The new Surface Pro looks a lot like the RT, but that is where the
similarities end. Once you open it up, you will see drastic
differences. The Pro will run on an Intel Core i5 processor, which means
that you will be able to run programs such as QuickBooks and PhotoShop
on it. Those programs do not work on the RT.
Pricing is reasonable for the device, at least compared to the RT.
The smaller version will sell at $899 while the 128GB version will have a
price tag of just $100 more.
A full HD screen, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi capabilities, and two 720p
cameras make this tablet a fully-functional device for a lot of
different needs. With a full-size USB 3.0 port, you can easily connect
it to a printer or other devices. Experts have promised that this will
be a tablet with many of the benefits of a computer. In just a few
days, we will find out if that is true.
